The Cooperative Research Centre for Innovative Wood (CRC) – see below - included a project on bending - the aspect of the CRC series that is worth noting is that the legs, seats, table tops etc utilised bent components. Otherwise standard joinery and carving/forming was utilised.
Lueckenhausen was Project Manager, Innovative Technologies in the Design and Manufacture of High-Value Furniture and Wood Products, a project within the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), Wood Innovations.

Research projects included: Application of innovative manufacturing technologies such as the microwave modification of timber.
Investigation into the manufacture of bent furniture components.
Development of composite timber materials designed to improve the strength and stability amongst other properties of the various species of treated timbers.
Value adding solutions to Australian re-growth and plantation timber species for domestic and export market applications.
Identification and development of commercial opportunities for use of timber bending and window production for the construction industry.
The development of a comprehensive database relating to window and door construction in the building industry - conducted in collaboration with CSIRO .
