The travelling Mace needed to be light, be demountable and have a demountable Mace Stand for travel to overseas graduation ceremonies for the various Transnational Education Programs Swinburne conducted.
The basic ‘shoulder mace’ eight-faceted form of the home Mace was referenced. The materials included a machined aluminium finial and tail at either end of a carbon fibre cone.
The stand was refashioned from a commercial photography stand.
