In the family of early (late 70s/80s) works based on the Jacaranda seedpod, the lip-like opening of which evolved through a continual series of mutations into one of Lueckenhausen’s key signature marks – seen here at the top and bottom of the board which is spaced forward of the ‘shell’.
The flared sides of the pod, similarly led to a series of flared edges - seen here at the left and right of the ‘shell’.
