Powerhouse Museum, Mind and Body Exhibition - Contemporary Medicine and Traditional/Tribal Medicine
These paper construction/sculpture works were installed as part of the Mind and Body Exhibition in the Powerhouse Musuem in Sydney. A team of Lueckenhausens recently graduated students at the time worked for up to three months contributing to this project. They represent two attitudes to, perhaps two sides of, medicine and healing on the one hand traditional tribal medicine predicated on faith and on the other, science-based contemporary medicine. Paper folding and manipulation has a distinguished history of use in exhibition, display, retail window display, advertising and general model making.
