Commissioned for a small meeting room at the School of Design at Swinburne University of Technology, the table uses a Postmodern four-square grid but then set one of the squares at an angle, creating a sense of tension and asymmetry. The narrative includes a metaphor for the nature of meetings, in fact, the nature of groups, and never fails to surprise and draw comment from visitors including a tendency to try to straighten the fourth element. The four smaller squares mark the size and position of the legs.
